What is AlmaCon?
We are a free anime and gaming convention hosted by the Alma College Otaku and Gamers! This event is in its second year and so far everything looks great. Our mission in planning AlmaCon is to involve those in our community who have an interest in anime, Japanese culture, and tabletop and video gaming. There is no admission fee for entrance, as we want anyone to be able to attend who wants to, including high school students and students of nearby colleges. Additionally, we are proud to welcome DJ Dr. T. of Entertainment Solutions of Michigan, the mix-master of Alma. Friday and Saturday, DJ Dr. T. will be spinning the night away at our ball and rave. Party into the night to a mix of anime songs, pop, rock, 80's and all your requests. Check them out on Facebook and Youtube.
Finally, all proceeds from ticket sales for the rave and formal ball -- as well as a portion of our revenue from our vendor area -- are being donated to ACOG's Relay For Life Fund. Also, we will be raising points for the Child's Play Charity, by collecting spare change and bills at check-in. Come support a great cause while you spend a fun weekend with other otaku! There will be many contests, including cosplay, tabletop systems, and video games, so bring your best!
